A card payment appears as 'Failed'. Why is this happening?


Online payment processing is a highly complex ecosystem, with several involved parties and organizations that follow strict security rules according to international policies and standards.

A failed card transaction may occur due to insufficient funds on the cardholder's account, expired, or invalid card data, fraud prevention algorithms from the card issuer's side etc.

The safest way to determine why a card payment failed is to ask your customer to contact their issuing bank or credit card company and request more details.

Viva Payments may not always be capable of providing such details for every failure.
